چکیده

The increase of digital data between content's servers and clients in a network causes congestion problems when downloading big web contents including files, streaming media, etc. The problem becomes pronounced when a narrow bandwidth or unexpected termination of streaming services is appeared. Content Delivery Network (CDN) is introduced to overcome such problems by redirect client's request to the best server which proximal and least loaded. However, with intensity increase of people accessing a particular content, the

User Specific Request Redirection in a Content Delivery Network

This paper discusses user specific request redirection for personalizing responses to user requests in Content Delivery Networks (CDN). User specific request redirection refers to the process of redirecting user requests to a server on the content delivery network based on user specific information carried in the user request. Current redirection schemes in CDNs are either based on the authorit...

A Technique for User Specific Request Redirection in a Content Delivery Network

This paper presents a technique for user specific request redirection for personalizing responses to user requests in Content Delivery Networks. Current schemes for redirecting user requests to a content delivery server in a Content Delivery Network are either based on the authoritative DNS model or the URL rewrite model. The authoritative DNS model is not flexible to support user specific redi...

Performance Evaluation of URL Routing for Content Distribution Networks

As the World Wide Web continues to grow in size, content is being co-located throughout the world in Content Distribution Networks (CDNs). These CDNs need entirely new methods of distributing client requests. The idea of a URL router has been introduced and in this dissertation the performance of URL routing is addressed. A URL router that uses HTTP redirection to automatically forward requests...

An Approach for QoS-Driven Performance Modeling of Peering Content Delivery Networks

{apathan, brobergj, raj}@csse.unimelb.edu.au ABSTRACT A Content Delivery Network (CDN) is expected to provide high performance Internet content delivery through global coverage, which might be an obstacle for new CDN providers, as well as affecting commercial viability of the existing ones. Peering of CDNs can be a way to allow cooperation between CDNs in a scalable manner and to achieve better...

Resource discovery and request-redirection for dynamic load sharing in multi-provider peering content delivery networks

A constellation of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), termed as peering CDNs, endeavors to guarantee adequate delivery performance when the incoming request load is overwhelming for a single provider alone. Each user is served by an optimal Web server in terms of network cost, even under heavy load conditions. Before it could be comprehended, appropriate resource discovery and request-redirectio...
